Penelope Kokkinides aids the citizens of Puerto Rico through InnovaCare Health

 

Between September and October 2017, one of the worst natural disasters to hit Puerto Rico occurred. While the storm killed about 64 people, about 400 others later lost their lives due to circumstances that were inadvertently caused by the storm. As the citizens of Puerto Rico struggle to regain their previous lives, InnovaCare, through its President Mr. Richard Shinto and its Chief Administrative Officer Penelope Kokkinides, is providing a helping hand.

InnovaCare is an innovative healthcare company that offers healthcare plans in the US. Their headquarters are based in New Jersey. InnovaCare works for the citizens of Puerto Rico under the names PMC Medicare Choice and MMM Healthcare. They have partnered with the Puerto Rico government to provide health care programs: Medicaid and Medicare Advantage. Through these programs, InnovaCare serves about 200,000 members through more than 7,500 providers. The company acquired Medicare and Medicaid most significant healthcare rating for a provider. Moreover, they received NCQA accreditation from the Puerto Rico government.

About Penelope Kokkinides

Penelope Kokkinides has been the Chief Administrative Officer of InnovaCare since 2016. She is a biological sciences graduate from Binghamton University and graduated from New York University with a master in social work. Furthermore, Penelope has a master from Columbia University in Public health. Miss Kokkinides had also previously served at InnovaCare as Chief Operating Officer. Between 2006 and 2012, she served as Chief Operating Officer of Aveta. She also worked as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Centerlight HealthCare. Kokkinides’ reputation grew while she was the Corporate Vice President of AmeriChoice when she contributed to both the development and the implementation of the healthcare model in their Care Management and Disease Management.

Penelope Kokkinides was invited to take part in a roundtable discussion with US President Donald Trump. She was among the eight women, who are leaders in the caregiver industry, chosen to seat with the President and administrator Seema Verma. Kokkinides utilized the opportunity to emphasize on the need for more Medicare financing in Puerto Rico. In one year, Medicare had witnessed their funding drop by over $1 billion.

Richard Shinto M.D is both the President and Chief Executive Officer of InnovaCare Health Solutions. Between 2008 and 2012, he held these positions at Aveta of North American Medical Management Illinois. Dr. Shinto has been in the clinical and operational healthcare industry for more than two decades.
